Greetings from the desk of RUMBLE + STIR
Welcome to the first installment of our brand-new quarterly newsletter
“BEST BARTENDER(S) YOU WON’T FIND IN A BAR”
In their Best of Rochester 2025 issue, City’s Editor-in-Chief Leah Stacy had some kind and eloquent words to say about the event bartending work we’ve been doing over the past 2 years. We couldn’t be any more flattered. We also can’t wait to make you the Mai Tai mentioned at the end of the blurb. More on that below…

SIRENS' FLOATING RADIO HOUR
Live every Tiki Tuesday at 6pm on WAYO 104.3 fm
Produced by Rumble + Stir, Sirens’ Floating Radio Hour is a weekly show highlighting the history, aesthetic, and cocktails of the mid-century Tiki movement, interspersed with classic Jamaican music from the 60s and 70s. So tune in, grab a mai tai, kick up your feet, and float with us during our weekly happy hour of tropical escapism.

COCKTAIL HIGHLIGHT
MAI TAI
For many people, they hear Mai Tai and think, “super sweet, tons of fruit juice, please God no.” If this is you, you are most-likely the victim of the mixological dark ages of the 70s, 80s, and/or 90s. The original Mai Tai was created in 1944, and is a masterfully-balanced drink with the perfect amount of tropical complexity. The name itself is Tahitian for “The Best.”

2 oz Rum Blend (Primarily Jamaican rum)
½ oz Dry Curacao
¾ oz Fresh Lime Juice
¼ oz Demerara Syrup
¼ oz Orgeat (Almond Syrup)
Garnish: Mint Bouquet
